OUR IN-COUNTRY CONNECTION
Meet Elvin & Wendy Cerna
It would be impossible for Honduran Hearts to serve as we do without an in-country connection whose heart, passion, and vision equaled that of our own. Under the leadership of Elvin and Wendy Cerna, Compassion and Faith Ministry, Honduras (ComFehn), is that connection.
Elvin and Wendy were raised in the mountains of Honduras, and although they were fortunate enough to be educated in the city, their hearts remained connected to the needs of the villages nestled and hidden in the mountains of Honduras, C.A. Carrying basic provisions and the Gospel of Jesus Christ on foot, dirt bike, bus, or truck they were driven forward by compassion and strengthened by faith to reach the people of this amazing country. They have two beautiful daughters, Clarissa and Alisson, who have both inherited their parents' love for country and the fire of a missionary.

Since 2003 this power couple has been connected to members of Honduran Hearts, serving together in various capacities. With such enduring relationships, it was only natural that in 2017 when Honduran Hearts, Inc. was established the Cerna Family would be part of the vision and team.
The relationship has grown and been strengthened through the years. We are not only connected in ministry but as family. The Honduran Hearts Board of Directors rely on the wisdom and cultural insight of this family as we plan and make decisions and therefore they have been an integral part of our structure since the beginning. In 2021, Elvin and Wendy began their own non-profit in Honduras, Compassion and Faith Ministry, Honduras (ComFeHn), and it continues to be our honor to serve together.
